ASRP members have the opportunity to contribute directly to the association’s mission and ongoing development. Committee work supports communication, education, standards, membership growth, and legislative awareness across Washington’s senior housing and referral field.

Committee Descriptions

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee supports clear, timely communication throughout the association. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating general communications to members, such as meeting notices and event updates

  • Maintaining the ASRP website and assisting with content needs

  • Collaborating with other committees to ensure consistent communication across the association

  • Supporting strategic communications related to public relations, marketing, and board initiatives

Education Committee

The Education Committee helps members stay informed and prepared for changes in the referral field. Responsibilities include:

  • Working with the Membership and Legislative Committees to share updates on legislative activity

  • Collaborating with the Ethics and Best Practices Committee to identify trends, opportunities, and training needs

  • Scheduling and coordinating speakers for monthly membership meetings

  • Creating an overview document about ASRP to share with social workers and other professionals

Ethics and Best Practices Committee

This committee supports thoughtful discussion and recommended approaches related to practices in the senior housing and referral field. Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying guidelines, ethical considerations, and ideas related to industry practices

  • Presenting recommended approaches to the ASRP Executive Board for review

  • Assisting the Education Committee in sharing approved information with members

  • Reviewing ethical issues that arise and offering suggestions to the Executive Board

Legislative Committee

The Legislative Committee follows legislative activity related to the senior referral field and keeps the association informed. Responsibilities include:

  • Tracking bills and legislative actions relevant to senior housing and referral professionals

  • Reviewing details as legislation progresses

  • Updating the Executive Board on activity occurring in Olympia

  • Working with the board to determine appropriate communication to members

  • Attending legislative meetings related to ASRP’s areas of interest

Members of this committee benefit from an interest in current events, state policy, and local government.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee focuses on member development and outreach. Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying companies appropriate for Professional or Affiliate membership

  • Contacting and meeting with prospective member companies

  • Creating materials that help the public and potential members understand ASRP’s purpose

  • Conducting periodic assessments to evaluate membership development efforts

  • Encouraging all members to help identify new potential members
